Lunch Lady Land

I usually dont let my kids eat school lunch, especially beacause they raised their prices to $2.50, ridiculous. But this year I was surprised to find out that we qualified for reduced prices. Now it is $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch....what a deal. Now my kids eat breakfast and lunch there. It is a real time saver in the morning. My only problem is what they serve...They have pizza twice a week and then usually "pizza stix or pizza poppers" on another day of the week. Guess what my kids choose? Today the options are, chicken mashed potato bowl..whatever that is, Cheeseburger, or mini corn dogs. Both kids announced on the way to school they are getting the corn dogs. In their defense they do have an awesome salad bar with excellent fruit and veggies, sometimes I will eat breakfast with them and load up on their fruit. If my kids weigh 300 pounds at the end of the semester we will be switching to lunch from home.

A Hot Trip To The Zoo

This weekend we went to a birthday party at the zoo. It was very hot, but fun. They had the cutest little Orangutang baby, it reminded me of Maycie, maybe it was the hair color. Maycie was scared of the Big Orangutang...and the Rhino....and the elephant....she was pretty much scared of everything.

Missing: Two Front Teeth

Missing: Riley's Two Front Teeth
Date Last Seen: May of 2008
Color: Pearly White
Riley lost her front teeth months ago and the new ones have not shown up, we are beginning to think they may have run away. If you see them please send them our way. Riley misses eating corn on the cob and apples. I was hoping they would show up for picture day at school, but no luck. Teeth, if you are out there please come home, Riley promises to brush you twice a day and floss too. P.S..... If the teeth are big and dorky looking, dont mention this message, we would rather go without.

Coulter Turned Five!!!!

Coulter had his Fifth Birthday yesterday. The day started at 5:30 am so he could have time to open presents before school. He partied all day at school, then we went to ChuckECheese after school. He didnt want a party, just the family at ChuckECheese. Fine with me, a house full of five year old boys is not my favorite thing. I cant believe that little stinkerpot is five already.
In honor of Coulter turning five here are five fabulous facts about Coulter:
1.Coulter was born in just 6 minutes with only two pushes.
2. The ultrasound guy told us he was going to be a girl, we were very surprised when he came out a boy. Everyone thought it was so funny...me, not so much. He had to go home with a few pink items.
3. He potty trained himself before he was two years old.
4.Coulter is an awesome piano player.
5. He once broke his pinky finger during gymnastics and me not realizing it was broken sent him back in and he finished his class, swinging on the rings, hanging on the bar..with a very broken finger...Yes the mother of the year award should be arriving any day now. He didnt even cry, the people in the ER were very impressed.

And we certainly cannot forget that it was Grandpa Rod's B-day too. I like you so mucj I gave you a Grandson for your birthday, I know that every other Bday present must seem lame after that one. Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!!

My future Olympians

Well, maybe not olympians, but still pretty good for a six year old. Here is Riley doing her standing backbend. She can almost do a full walkover...almost. Then it is Maycie thinking she is doing the same thing.

Captain Underpants...

For some reason, Maycie LOVES underwear. She gets into the laundry and the kids' dressers and steals their underwear all the time. Then she hides and tries to put them on, then has a tantrum when we take them away. Sometimes we will let her wear clean ones over her pajamas. She thinks this is so fabulous. Apparently she is no the only wierd child when it comes to this. Last week at Riley's dance class a little sister came in proudly wearing her older sister's panties over the top of her clothes. At least we only let our Captain Underpants wear her costume around the house.

School Already?

Can you believe my kids are back in school already. That was a fast summer, just eight short weeks. When we were kids didnt school start in September? My kids better be very smart after this. This year was Coulter's first day of Kindergarten and Riley's first day of first grade. Apparently I bought Coulter's school clothes WAY too big. The kid just doesnt grow. Hopefully he is not the smallest one in the class. He did not want any hugs or kisses when we dropped him off. He did not acknowledge us at all. He just wanted us to go. Riley was excited because they were going to be studying bugs first thing. She will be in heaven. She is in a 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade combined class. She is looking forward to hanging out with "third grade girls". I came home and put Maycie down for a nap and heard SILENCE, a sound I havent heard since May 25, last year's last day of school.
