Anyone Can Hula-Hoop

Check out these mad hula-hooping skills.

Have you ever wanted to know a two-year old who could hula-hoop? Well now you can mark that off your list.....well, not really. But it's still fun to watch.

Headed to Bagdad

Bagdad, Arizona that is... Ha Ha I bet you thought that Cody was going back to Iraq. Today was the kid's last day of school. (Hallelujah) So they had a fun day in Bagdad. (small mining town about 45 min West of us.) Because Bagdad has things that our town doesn't, like a park, a grocery store, and a pool. ( a FREE pool by the way)At the park the kids' class did a puppet show, Coulter was riveting as "cloud" and "Mouse"
Riley shone as Narrator and voice of Mouse.
I will spare the boring details of the pool and only give the highlights:
  • Coulter has to be rescued by the lifegaurd after a slippery kickboard incident (jeez kid where are your parents?)
  • Riley goes down the slide 12 kajillion times
  • We learn Maycie has no fear of water

Happy Summer!!

How to Walk Your Dog Arizona Style

Too Hot to go out and walk your dog?

Don't feel like wearing pants?

Note how Fergus takes a taste of the Desitin that I had previously applied to Maycie's backside...Golden.

Maycie's face.....priceless.

Cartoon Classic

Today Riley and Coulter Competed at the Cartoon Classic Meet at their Gym. They did an escellent job. Riley scored a first place on the vault and second place on beam. She took fourth in the all around. She has since turned her medal and ribbons into permanent accessories.

Coulter took second in ALL his events including second in the all around. I have heard him a few timed saying to himself, "I am so proud of myself."

Cody and myself won the most awsome parents award for sitting through a three hour gym meet, plus having a pain in the butt two year old alongside. (Two year old later threw up all over once we go home, Pain in the buttness understood.)

Finding Fergus

This is our new little dog Fergus (we did not pick the name). We got him from a rescue shelter while we were in Las Vegas last week. He is a purebred Jack Russel Terrier puppy. He came already trained and housebroken, thats the way we like them. Riley is in love with him, Coulter finds him acceptable, and Maycie was terrified of him. She has since gotten over her fear and now follows him around all day forcing him to eat pieces of dog food.
He is not the smartest dog in the world. His hobbies include:
Drinking out of the toilet
Howling at the crack of Dawn (my personal favorite)
And Barking at Dogs on the T.V.
Despite this he has begun to mend broken hearts, one small one in particular and for this I am thankful.

Missing Rocky

While we were in Utah this week we recieved a very sad and shocking phone call. Our neighboor's Rotweiller/pitbulls escaped their yard, broke part of our siding off our house to get through our fencing, and killed our sweet little Poodle Rocky. We all miss Rocky very much and we are glad he was part of our family, although it was not long enough. We are thankfull for our other neighboors and Animal control who took care of Rocky for us and also capturing the other dogs.

Utah vs. Arizona

This week we had to make a bittersweet trip to Utah for the funeral of Cody's cousin David, who passed away from cancer, Cody was especially heartbroken. It was a beautiful funeral. Cody was honored to march with the DPS honorgaurd (David was once an officer). We wish the best for his young family and we will always have them in our prayers.
Arizona vs. Utah
This is what we did this week in Arizona:
Jumped on the tramp in swimsuits with water.
This is what we did this week in Utah: Froze our butts off
I think we will use the look on Maycie's face to determine the winner.
The winner is: Arizona
We will be back in Utah next week and we are planning to get squeeky cheese in Beaver, so there may be a chance for redemption...We really like squeeky cheese.
